 "THE COLORS OF BANGKOK "
is a 4-5 hour bicycling tour through Bangkok Metropolis. The trip starts from Soi 71, Rama 3 Road, which is conveniently located only 3-5 KM from all major hotels. We can adjust the distance of the tour according to our participants.

Since the tour was developed by Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd. , the recreational aspect is, together with our safety policy, a priority. Therefore any healthy person who is able to balance and ride a bicycle can join our trip. During the trip, which holds a maximum of 8 people per group, participants get to see the huge contrasts which the metropolis has to offer. We visit a local Buddhist temple complex, a sweatshop making sandals and other items, and take a short boat trip across the Chao Praya river in a longtail boat, seeing not only luxurious villas and apartments, but also slum houses and the people living there as well. We see an open-air Muay Thai school (kick boxing), a Burmese style (Mon) Chedi, and a local elementary school. While riding through the greenest area of Bangkok you might recognize plants that you have at home, only here they are much bigger.
Our route for "Colors of Bangkok " is 95% traffic free. Cars and other heavy traffic are not able to drive along the route. During the trip we stop almost every hour to rest and to provide you drinking water and soft drinks. Halfway through the tour, we serve you a small local meal (Pad Thai Kung or Kao Pad) in a local restaurant.

About 2 years ago, we successfully launched our cycling tour, "Colors of Bangkok". Now, at the request of many of our partners, we've introduced a tour for people who would like to see the "Colors of Bangkok", but would prefer to walk instead of cycle. We've named it "Rickshaw & Hike the Colors."

Like "Colors of Bangkok", our trip gives participants a totally different view of the Bangkok seen in brochures and magazines. "Rickshaw & Hike the Colors.." starts from our office every morning at 10 AM. Participants will be surprised what happens behind and away from the concrete walls and buildings of Bangkok. After visiting a typical local temple, we walk at a relaxed pace through one of the poorest neighborhoods of Bangkok. You'll learn that, although people don't have much by our own Western standard,; they're all more than friendly, and happy with their lives. This remains an authentic part of the Thai-way-of-life. The way people live along the many canals in Bangkok is not seen while passing by in a tourist boat, but by actually walking amongst them. After this experience, we go for a short long- tail boat ride across the Chao Praya river.
Once on the other side, we actually enter a jungle of banana, mango, papaya and coconut-trees. You can't even reach here by bicycle, but nature-lovers will feel at ease. A little further on, we visit a beautiful park, where we rest a while, and feed the hundreds of fish waiting at the pond.
After enjoying the beauties of the park; the birds, squirrels and butterflies, we continue our walk to our lunch destination. A Thai-lunch will be served in a typical local setting. When everyone is ready, the next surprise awaits. We continue our journey in a real "samlor" (Thai Rickshaw or "bicycle taxi" ), to make a cycling trip through the greenest part of Bangkok, before reaching the jetty. There a long-tail boat awaits, ready to bring us back to the familiar concrete side of Bangkok.

 BICYCLE RENTAL
Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd. has a fleet of Mongoose Switchback AL/SX ATB comfort bikes available. On tours we include bike hire in the tour price.
Our Bikes We use Switchback ATB comfort bikes because they are high quality, durable pieces of equipment. We like the versatility and durability of the ATB bike as it has been designed to cope with different types of terrain and riding. Even on our road trips, the asphalt can often be broken or potholed, and there are usually unsurfaced sections included, so ATB bikes are the most suitable.
Bikes are not only available for use during our tours but are also available for general hire from our operations office in Bangkok. In case you want to go it alone or just need a bike for a day, the following are rental prices per day from Bangkok:
