Colors of Chiang Mai
“Colors of Chiang Mai” is a 4-5 hour amazing bicycling tour through the southern part of Chiang Mai.
The trip starts daily 08:00 AM & 13:00 PM from our office Ban Nai Fun 1, in Chiang Mai.
As the tour was developed by Recreational Bangkok Biking Ltd., recreation combined with the highest levels of safety standards, remain our top priorities. Therefore any healthy person who can ride a bicycle can join the trip. During the trip, which is limited to a maximum of 8 people per group, participants will see and learn about the rich cultural background of Chiang Mai.
The route takes us through quiet green land roads, passing by the former capital of Lana; with Wiang Kum Kam showing us temples and ruins dating back hundreds of years. We visit a Chinese temple; the McKean rehabilitation center; a former leper colony; a special school for monks: mostly hill-tribe children; and stop at a small pottery, where we watch them hand make different shapes of pottery.
Riding along the Ping River, we breathe in the local atmosphere that makes Chiang Mai so special. We stop at a candy factory to sample some of the delicious candy that Chiang Mai is famous for; visit a local bakery, and watch them make a variety of products by hand. At the market we see the same products back in small traditional shops; and here you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the most delicious and exotic fruits and other snacks.
During the trip we stop every hour for a short rest, and provide you with drinking water or a soft drink. Halfway through the trip, we provide a small Thai meal (Kao Soy Kai) in a local restaurant.
Bicycles used are all imported, with U.S. design, 24 speeds, front suspension, and are all terrain comfort bikes. Book this trip in advance at your travel agent as availability is limited!
Note: The visit to the school may not be available during school holidays.
